The photos below were sent by an eDeck customer in Missouri, wrapping his pool with Garapa decking using EB-TY hidden fasteners, and finished with Warm Honey Gold color in Woodrich Brand Hardwood Wiping Stain. Garapa is a lesser-known Brazilian hardwood decking species, and is more golden-blonde than Ipe – making it both lighter in color and in weight (and easier to work with). It’s less expensive and also resistant for rot, decay and termite damage to its heartwood. Because it is lighter in weight, that also makes it a little less expensive to ship. So the decision to consider Garapa comes down to two things – aesthetic and budget.
